
Just like Claude for Word, Claude for Excel is an add-in from Claude. It enables users to integrate AI into Microsoft Excel, allowing those who use spreadsheets to maximize their workflow by leveraging AI without leaving the workbooks. To install Claude, add it for individual accounts, follow the following steps;
- Open the Excel application. Click the Home tab at the top of the window to reveal available options.
- Click on “Add-ins”
- In the Add-ins section, use the search function to look for ‘Claude by Anthropic for Excel’ in the Microsoft Office Store.
- To install, click on “Add” and then “Continue.”
- To integrate Login with your paid Claude account, a Claude panel will appear on the Right.
- Authorize by granting permission for Claude to excel.
For Administrators managing organization-wide applications;
Step 1: Log in to your Microsoft admin account at admin.microsoft.com
Step 2: Go to Settings, Integrated Apps, and then click on Add-ins
Step 3: Click on Get apps, then search Claude by Anthropic AI for Excel. Click on Deploy.
Step 4: Click on the deployment scope, or if you want to test first before rolling it out to the rest of the organization.
Step 5: Alert users to accept on their end to begin using it.
Just a side note, this is a tool that is still under development, and its expected changes will become apparent as Anthropic receives more feedback from the users. If you primarily work with word processing, Anthropic AI for Word is an extremely hardy tool. You no longer need to switch Applications and transfer documents just to use AI.
