Claude for Word is an add-in by Anthropic AI that enables users to create, edit, and change document formats so much faster and easier. Currently, to integrate Claude AI into Microsoft Word, you need to have Claude Pro or a Team plan for multiple users or organisations.

There are various ways to access and use Claude for Word.

For personal use;

Open Microsoft Word and click on the Home Tab,

Click on ‘Add-ins’

Click to search for “Claude by Anthropic for word” in the Microsoft Office store.

Once it appears on your search, to install, click on“Get it now.”

Follow the prompts to install.

To integrate/Activate

After installing, the Claude sidebar appears on the right side. Log in to your Claude account.

You are good to go.

For Administrators managing organisation-wide applications;

Step 1: Log in to your Microsoft admin account at admin.microsoft.com

Step 2:Go to Settings ,Integrated Apps, and then click on Add-ins

Step 3:Click on Get apps, then search Claude by Anthropic AI for Word. Click on Deploy.

Step 4:Click on the deployment scope, or if you want to test first before rolling it out to the rest of the organisation.

Step 5:Alert users to accept on their end in order to begin using it.

Just a side note, this is a tool that is still under development, and its expected changes will become apparent as Anthropic receives more feedback from the users. If you majorly work with word processing, Anthropic AI for Word is an extremely hardy tool. You no longer need to switch Applications and transfer documents just to use AI.
