Why Gemini’s Nano Banana will make you Go Bananas…
Whether you are a pro editor or just an amateur who likes to spice up your photos, the newest addition to Gemini
(Nano Banana) will blow your mind. A peculiar name had been circulating on AI testing sites, Nano Banana. Don’t
ask me whether they ran out of names, but Google has been known for its “unique, weird” way of naming
products. However, don’t be fooled by the name may be weird, but the capability is next level.
There was no official trail on whose the new AI editing tool belonged to until Google made it official last week.
Many considered Google a late entrant in the AI game compared to other Big Tech companies, but due to their
unlimited access to big data, they have become a force leading the AI revolution.
So, what can this small banana do?
Unlike most other AI generators, Nano Banana is quite good at editing existing images as compared to
generating new ones. For example, instead of spending so much time gathering and collating photos to create a
perfect family portrait, it’s something you can do in just a matter of seconds. So, if you miss your next family
Christmas photoshoot, all you need to do is upload and add your photo without having so many edited hassles.
Your creativity has no limitations here, even if you want to have a selfie with your favorite celeb on a red carpet
at the Grammys. You just need to upload your photos and bring them to life the way you imagine them. You can
change outfits, create a background with a rose garden or bookshelves, or whatever.
Another cool feature is that it allows you to mix up designs from other objects and place them in your photo.
This allows more room for better creativity.
The downside of all this is that it will become harder to detect AI-generated/edited content because it’s a
combination of real and AI-generated. This makes it look so real, but I guess with the coming iterations, Google
will have to come up with something (watermark or something of the sort) to assist in clearing the Authenticity
of photos edited by Nano Banana
