What are the Top AI Trends For 2025?

We are just 2 weeks into 2025 and by that, it’s not a bad time to start making plans and looking at where things might be heading Techwise this year. No doubt AI in general and specifically generative AI was the dominant Technology last year and this might even go a notch higher this year. Similar to last year Generative AI is expected to be among the top trends in AI come 2025.

A lot has been going on as organizations are trying to figure out how best to embrace and incorporate AI into their processes. Going forward however the approach might be a bit different. The AI ‘Sugar rush’ and the Fear of Missing out seem to be dying down and more thoughtful conversations are beginning to happen in board rooms. With that said here are some of the most probable trends in AI according to some of the big players in the industry.

  • Mainstream Role out of AI Agents.

So Far, Most Organisations and even individual users have been using AI for automation and carrying out non-complex repetitive tasks that don’t require multi-steps to generate results. A great example of this is chatbot integration for customer service. On the other hand, Agentic AI can handle more complex tasks hence freeing up their human counterparts to carry out other tasks. It’s expected this year AI Agents will become more mainstream as they prove to be valuable.

  • AI security research and Integration

Ofkos if you know me you are aware this is my favourite. It’s a Natural progression whenever a new technology is adopted the next logical step is how to keep it secure. One of the biggest dangers presented by AI adoption is security. Hackers and other bad actors didn’t waste time before they jumped on the AI bandwagon, and they are already causing All sorts of problems. From the deep fakes to phishing nothing is left to chance. It’s now becoming increasingly harder to recognize phishing messages when Hackers use AI to make them look more benign and convincing. They are now well-polished and without the usual typos. Huh! Who would have thought? To counter all this I expect lots of security tools to come out this year.

  • AI Returns

Now the honeymoon phase is over. Up until now, there hasn’t been a candid conversation on AI’s return on investment. Most Organizations for the fear of Missing out just decided to ride with the wave and adopted all sorts of AI tools but as the dust settles time is ripe for the tough conversation. Many players in the industry believe it’s a welcome move so that businesses are aware of which of their processes need to keep using AI and which ones need to be discarded. It will be interesting to see how both management and technical departments navigate as they try to make the best use of AI and minimize costs.

  • Quantum AI

I am putting this here so that I will come back and say, “I saw it coming”. This is probably the next “insane” technology through into the next decade. Quantum AI is a combination of quantum computing and Artificial intelligence. Quantum computing is a computer that exploits quantum mechanics to carry out large-scale operations/calculations hence processing large volumes of data with record time. Even though Quantum computing is in its infancy stages, Quantum AI is expected to gain lots of Traction and advancement this year.

In conclusion, it’s almost certain AI will be as big if not bigger in the coming year as it is today. I won’t sit here and say that I can predict all the details and AI trends coming. If anything, technology is always full of surprises and to be honest am all here for it. The prospects are too big to ignore, and they say it’s either you adapt or go home.
